Re:
Hoffington Tool & Die, Inc.
Case: 123245-6789-0
Dear Mr. Jones:
Thank you for this referral of the
case captioned above. Once it was received I made contact with
John Thompson who provided clearance per your instructions.
The following is the results of this asset investigation.
The company is located at the
provided address of 4371 112th Terrace, Saint
Petersburg, Florida 33762
I
interviewed both Phillip Hoffington and his son Henry
Hoffington in the private office of Phillip Hoffington. While
inside, these general observations were made: This
Investigator hand delivered Phillip Hoffington your formal demand letter that he reviewed during our meeting.
1.
The name of
the officer listed on the business license hanging on the wall
is Phillip Hoffington who is also the registered agent.
2.
Henry
Hoffington is Phillip’s son and appears to the manager in
charge of this corporation.
3.
As shown in
the photographs, there are several vehicles on this property
and all appear to be relatively newer vehicles.
4.
Products,
inventory etc. are all behind a closed door within the plant
building. There was no access for this investigator to observe
the activity or products. However, within the private office
of Phillip Hoffington were plans and drawings for products
related to the automotive industry.
5.
There was no
information listed for the landlord or building rental
agreement and property tax records reflect the owner of the
property is R & B Spartan Properties, Inc. with taxes at
$12,209 per year. This is a medium size manufacturing building
of 3072 sq. feet of manufacturing area.
6.
No other
professional license was observed within the office area.
7.
One letter
was provided for review originating from Southern Bank
describing their portion of the latest federal stimulus
package.
8.
The client
information shows a Mom and Pop operation and they described
how they were anticipating securing a large contract for the
automotive industry and should be back on their feet shortly.
They offered to provide $1000.00 to this investigator and set
up a payment plan. However, this investigator explained that
they needed to contact the creditor in my presence, which they
did.
9.
Based on the
vehicles in the parking lot there appears to be less than 10
employees on site.
10.
Activities
while present were a secretary answering the main telephone,
organizing paperwork and mail, a salesman in the office with
Henry Hoffington. Phillip Hoffington was in his personal
office which was clean and organized. There were blue prints
hanging on an easel and various metal products that were
manufactured on site displayed on shelves.
In this meeting it was explained
to both Hoffingtons that my visit was a courtesy call and a
pre-litigation visit. They asked if I was an attorney and I
replied that I was not. In fact I provided them with my
business card assuring them I was a private investigator
conducting a pre-litigation asset investigation and the client
was serious about securing their funds and or a judgment
against them and their company.
The Hoffingtons were visibly
nervous and very interested in resolving this issue with USA
Stainless Steels as they had been customers for a very long
time with them. Additionally, and as expected, they explained
that as of January of this year they have experienced a
significant loss/slowing in business.
